Arnulf was introduced to gliding by his father at age 14. Despite a lack of interest in flying he agreed try gliding and found it to be both funny and challenging. Throughout the fall of 2009 many weekends were spent gliding at Oppdal, and after 23 starts and five hours in the air he flew solo for the first time the 13th February 2010. After that day he was hooked for life. He was introduced to the sport of gliding (cross country soaring) during the summer of 2010. Due to little cross country activity at his local airport his first cross country trip came as late as late april 2011 only two months before his first competition. The two trips with an experienced instructor proved invaluable as the weather only allowed him to fly one more cross country trip before his first competition. He achieved a fifth place and became a member of the Junior National Gliding Team of Norway. In 2012 he’ll represent Norway in the Junior Nordic Championship as well as other smaller competitions, he is also one of the main candidates to compete in the Junior World Gliding Championship of 2013 in Leszno, Poland.
